About Us

The Psychotherapy Society of Hong Kong is a multidisciplinary association of psychotherapists and counsellors as well as a member society of The Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong. Members come from a variety of nationalities, ethnicities and mental health and related disciplines including psychiatry, clinical psychology, counselling, family medicine, and social work. Members range from current professionals to students training to become future practitioners to those with a special interest in Psychotherapy and Counselling.

Mission

The Psychotherapy Society is a non-profit, learned society that exists to promote the academic discipline of psychotherapy in Hong Kong.

The Society’s mission is threefold:

To promote the increase of knowledge about psychotherapy within Hong Kong.

To promote the exchange of knowledge and experience among professionals.

To support professional training and continued education.

What we do

To promote the increase of knowledge about psychotherapy within Hong Kong.

To promote the exchange of knowledge and experience among professionals such as doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers and others.

To promote training in psychotherapy within Hong Kong.

To promote the ethical practice of psychotherapy in Hong Kong, while not undertaking the monitoring or disciplining of members.

To hold debates, conferences, learned meetings, lectures, and undertake research or other such activities in support of the above aims.

To promote diversity and inclusion in the practice of psychotherapy in Hong Kong.
